The event not only celebrated the longstanding collaboration between Maynooth and UCLy but also marked the new BCL Law and Languages programme, a collaborative effort between the School of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures.

SETU’s Walton Institute is leading the €10m IrelandQCI project on behalf of the Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre CONNECT, jointly funded by the European Commission, ESA and the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications. A consortium of partners - including Prof Jiri Vala, Dept of Theoretical Physics - is currently one year into the two-and-a-half-year project.

Histories of Global Education in Europe
This month, Dr. Eilish Dillon of the Department of International Development has published a chapter in the latest book published by the Global Education Network Europe (GENE), ‘Global Education National Histories in Europe: Volume 1’, edited by Annette Scheunpflug and Liam Wegimont. This book, which was published to coincide with GENE’s 50th Roundtable in April 2024, with volume 2 to follow, brings together short national histories of Global Education in a selection of European countries.
