Prescriptions:
Pre-existing Medical Conditions:
Students coming to university for the first time with a pre-existing medical condition, or who are currently on medication necessitating repeat prescriptions or injections are advised to bring all relevant medical documentation with them. It is advisable that students register at the earliest opportunity with the Student Health Centre.
Repeat Prescriptions:
Appointments for repeat prescriptions e.g contraceptive pill must be made two weeks in advance of requiring a new prescription. Note: you cannot attend the nurse for a contraception renewal prescription unless you have previously attended the doctor in the Student Health Centre for your contraception.
Telephone 01-7083878 to arrange an appointment.
Sexual Health Clinic:
We offer a limited STI screening at a charge of €20. This service is strictly confidential.
Please read further information here on what to expect in this screening
Test Results:
You will usually be required to attend for most results, some you may be able to phone for.
We recommend that you always find out the result of any test done and never assume that 'no news is good news'.
Dental Care:
There is no dentist on campus. Students in need of dental care should contact locally based dentists. Please note that students are responsible for dental charges.
There is no physiotherapist on campus. Students in need of physiotherapy should contact locally based physiotherapists. Please note that students are responsible for physiotherapist charges.
