BSc Economics - A New and Exciting Designated-Entry Programme

Tuesday, October 26, 2021 - 10:00

The Department of Economics is delighted to announce a new programme; BSc Economics integrated with MSc Economics with the CAO code MH415. Students will be admitted to the programme in September 2022.

The programme will put students on a path to become professional economists working in either the public or private sector. In BSc Economics, students will learn to take a scientific evidence-based approach to understand economic and socio-economic problems, to critique existing policies and to create new solutions to combat these problems.

This is the first undergraduate programme in Maynooth University Faculty of Social Sciences which is integrated with a postgraduate programme. The default path is going from BSc Economics (three years) to MSc Economics (one-full year of study). Students will automatically progress to MSc Economics should they reach a minimum standard. Students will also have the option of graduating with the BSc degree and pursuing a path other than MSc Economics.
