Law Department Doctoral Scholar Victoria Oluwatobi Isa Daniel  published an article on RTÉ Brainstorm entitled “Why the state should provide early legal advice and assistance”. This article considers the opinion that earlt legal advice abd assistance would benefit both State and applicants, resulting in higher – quality decisions and fewer appeals. Victoria discusses how the Irish international protection system works, the importance of legal advice and assistance and what the steps the State can take to provide the service to international protection applicants.

Victoria Oluwatobi Isa Daniel is a Doctoral scholar and tutor in Maynooth University School of Law and Criminology. Her research focuses on Refugee and Human Rights law. Victoria is co-supervised by Dr. Cliodhna Murphy and Dr. Brid Ni Ghrainne.
