The study of Dr. Sanjay Singh and colleagues recently published in Business Strategy and the Environment aims “to identify criterion for evaluating, comparing, and prioritizing the electronic-waste processing alternatives for operational and strategic implementation in the organization." They found that electronic-waste management's success depends upon the absolute commitment of all key stakeholders, including managers, consumers, and recyclers, to make e-waste recycling convenient to operate in the organization. This study’s findings further suggest that the electronics industry must design and manufacture eco-friendly products that are increasingly sustainable and contribute to achieving the zero-waste objective. E-waste is classified as hazardous waste and can be harmful to the environment and health if not disposed of responsibly.
