Researchmeet 2016

Wednesday, October 26, 2016 - 12:45

The first annual Froebel Researchmeet took place.on Tuesday 18 October. The event, organised by four B Ed Year 4  students - Kathleen O'Reilly, Caitríona Cleary, Niamh Creed and Aoife McDermott-  brought together NQT's to share their experiences and knowledge regarding Action Research in the classroom. Each of our eight speakers spoke for five minutes about the excellent research carried out across a variety of class groupings . A packed audience listened to presentations ranging from the use of drama to advance social skills, to the importance of the children's voices in the classroom, to the use of Minecraft to encourage reluctant writers. The event, attended by current final year BEd and PMEd students, provided guidance and support for those students beginning their journey with Action Research. It also, importantly, celebrated the great work of recent graduates from Maynooth University. A great evening was had by all.
