Dr Maria Helen Murphy was invited to speak at the AI Summit on 21 April 2021. Dr Murphy spoke about the newly proposed European Union Artificial Intelligence Regulation which has been described as the 'the first ever legal framework on AI.'
Other speakers at the AI Summit included Robert Troy TD (Minister of State for Trade Promotion, Digital and Company Regulation), Alessandra Sala (Director of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Shutterstock) and Professor Martin Curley (Director, Digital Transformation and Open Innovation, Health Service Executive).
Dr Murphy lectures Information Technology Law and Information Privacy Law at the postgraduate level and is a Team Member of the Center for AI and Digital Policy.
