A 2013 KPMG national survey showed the greatest barrier to successful innovation in Irish firms is not lack of funds or even a shortage of ideas - it's a lack of management expertise and experience.

When they have the required skills, universities can and should play a role in stimulating local enterprise and innovation.

The EDEN Centre, is Maynooth University 's university-wide centre for entrepreneurship, design and innovation.  On June 20th, EDEN is running an Innovation Bootcamp for businesses in Kilkenny.  The Maynooth University campus in Kilkenny alongside the regional chamber of commerce are offering places on the boot-camp for local businesses.  This is a half-day event at which participants will learn how to develop new business models; they will learn the basics of design thinking and they will learn how to enhance their personal creativity through learning how to visualise ideas.

Local entrepreneurs and businesses are invited to sign up to attend via EventBrite Please find more information here.
