Should any issue arise, or if there are any concerns during a placement, the employer can expect the full support of the MU Placement Office. The Placement Office Team will be available to assist and answer any queries you may have. Disciplinary issues or other placement related issues should be communicated to the Placement Office at the earliest opportunity.
The Maynooth University Placement Programme is aimed at enhancing employability by giving a real-life experience of professional, full-time work; therefore, we ask students to use initiative and take responsibility in coming forward with any issues they may have. The Placement Office will work with all parties to find an acceptable solution where possible.
The Placements Team are on hand Monday - Friday to answer any queries via email on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Visits and support
It is hoped that every MU student will have a placement visit. Visits are organised with the permission and agreement of the placement host. Visits may be virtual or on-site, whichever is mutually agreeable. Each visit would ideally consist of a 10 minute meeting with the student followed by the same with the organisation representative.
Assessment guidance and Placement evaluation
The student may be required to complete university assessments including monthly reflective journal entries and evaluations, while taking confidentiality and NDAs into account.
Your organisation is asked to submit a feedback survey and evaluation of the placement experience as a whole.
