MU publishes research showing 75% of Leaving Cert students prefer calculated grades
Maynooth University has published research looking at the wellbeing of Leaving Certificate students in the context of Covid-19 school closures, as well as students’ views and perceptions of the Leaving Certificate exam cancellations, the calculated grades system and access to third level education.

Maynooth University officially launches the Kathleen Lonsdale Institute for Human Health Research
Maynooth University has announced the launch of the Kathleen Lonsdale Institute for Human Health Research. The institute, which is located on the university’s campus, takes a uniquely integrated approach to address some of the major health problems of today, including obesity and antimicrobial resistance, as well as researching many chronic inflammatory diseases like Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis.

Maynooth University to receive more than €9 million for doctoral training of 70 students through new SFI Centres
Maynooth University has been named a partner in two highly innovative Science Foundation Ireland Centres for Research Training, which will provide training for more than 70 doctoral students at Maynooth in areas of identified skills need for Irish society and its economy.

Department of Psychology Kicks off its 20th Birthday Celebrations
To mark the beginning of the 20th year since the foundation of the Department of Psychology at MU in September, 1999, a research day was held in Renehan Hall on January 30th. This research symposium showcased the range of exciting research being conduced here, at both postgraduate and post-doctoral level in a series of 5-minute presentations.
