Do you consider yourself to be a resilient person? And how well do you tolerate risk? After the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic this year, resilience, as an individual characteristic, has become even more important than before. Yet, we know that the risk of COVID-19 is particularly worrying for the aging population, so does age play a role in how well we cope with the pandemic? And what about those of us who tend to be more risk-averse, how well do they cope with COVID-19? Dr Jon Gruda and Dr Jim McCleskey (Western Governors University, US) investigated whether age, resilience and risk-taking behaviour make a difference in how anxious the COVID-19 pandemic makes us feel. They do so using an experimental behavioural risk-taking task. You can check out their findings here
