On Saturday, 9th February, thirty three students from the Rising Teachers, Rising Leaders Programme attended the Chemistry Department. Launched in September 2018 the highly innovative Rising Teachers, Rising Leaders leadership programme is for senior cycle students attending DEIS post-primary schools and teachers. These ‘Rising Teachers’ have been recruited from students currently in third year/transition year and who attend DEIS post-primary schools with low progression rates to university. The students were given the opportunity to visit the Chemistry laboratories and learn the chemistry behind some simple experiments.
