The Universal Design Grand Challenge 2015 
The Universal Design Grand Challenge (UDGC) is a design competition that promotes and awards design excellence in Ireland. The UDGC invites third level students in their two years of study, post grads and recent graduates to enter their best student project to compete for two National Universal Design Student Awards. 
 
Following the success of the Universal Design Grand Challenge (UDGC) 2014, the Centre for Excellence in Universal Design at The National Disability Authority aims to encourage more students in the final two years of study, post grads and recently gradated students to enter the UDGC 2015. The UDGC awards are about recognising the great work being done by students in Ireland. The entry process for students can take less than an hour. Students are to send in their best design work and write brief statements according to the Principles of Universal Design. 

The Universal Design for Education Conference and 24 Hour Challenge 
As part of Irish Design 2015 the Centre for Excellence in Universal Design at the National Disability Authority will hold an international conference on "Universal Design in Education". Exploring themes of creativity,diversity and innovation, the conference will showcase international and national experiences of teaching and integrating Universal Design across a wide range of disciplines and levels of education from 2nd through 3rd level and including continuous professional development.  Masterclasses for lecturers and teachers will showcase how Universal Design is being taught in Ireland and internationally.   
  
"Universal Design in Education" conference will incorporate inspiring keynote speakers and the judging and awards ceremony of the "24 Hour Universal Design Challenge ".  As part of World Usability Day 2015 this promises to be an exciting and inspiring addition to the conference.
