Engineering Mathematics Entrance Exam 2023

Electronic Engineering Maths Entrance Exam  Tuesday 5th September 2023 at 11am.
 
The exam offers recent Leaving Certificate students who may not have achieved the minimum H4 Maths entry requirement for engineering in Maynooth University. The required percentage grade in the examination to qualify for consideration for admission is 60% (equivalent to a H4). (Please note where there are more eligible applicants, following the maths exam, than available places in MH304, an applicant's CAO points will be taken into consideration)
 
Students are also welcome to attend, and will automatically be enrolled for the Maths Preparation Course Monday 4th September 2023. The preparation course will take place in BioScience & Engineering, North Campus, Maynooth University, Room E1.01a and will include lectures and tutorials on exam topics and recent exam papers.
All students registered to take the Maths Entrance Exam will be automatically registered to attend the optional Preparatory Course on 4th September 2023. 

The exam, 2 hours in duration, is based only on content covered by Paper One of the Leaving Certificate Higher Level Mathematics syllabus. It provides prospective Engineering students with a second chance to secure the required H4 in Leaving Certificate Maths in order to meet the basic entry requirement for qualification to our Engineering degree.

Minimum Entry Requirements (Matriculation Requirements)
Matriculation refers to the minimum requirements that must be met in order to start a course in the University. For Engineering students, the requirements, in addition to passing the Engineering Mathematics exam are:Two grade H5 or better 
Four grade O6/H7, including a pass in Irish, English and a science subject
Note that a foreign language is not required

Mature Student Applicants
The minimum entry requirements (matriculation requirements) do not apply to mature students (i.e. students over aged 23 or over on 1 January of year of entry to the programme), but applicants must demonstrate a satisfactory standard in Mathematics.
