Dr Mary Murphy, Lecturer in Politics and Society in the Department of Sociology Maynooth University will be in Durban, South Africa this week to present a key paper addressing political strategies for change at 'The State and Social Transformation: Alternative Economic and Social Strategies Conference' hosted by Rhodes University and ISER. Dr Murphy's work is part of an international collaboration on developmental strategies co-ordinated by Institute for Social and Economic Research (ISER, Rhodes) and funded by the South African Netherlands Research Programme on Alternatives for Development (SANPAD).
