The 70th Irish Universities Chemistry Research Colloquium was held on 21-22nd June 2018 in Queens University Belfast. Our Chemistry Dept. postgraduate students gave three excellent oral presentations:
Muhib Ahmed: “Transition Metal Complexes of Novel Phenanthroline Derivatives as Antibacterial agents”
Matthew Nixon: “Are structure—less protein regions really so structure-less? An atomistic view of the architecture of disorder and its functions in protein-protein interactions”
Mark Kelada: “The design, synthesis and evaluation of novel small molecules with potential as anti-diabetic agents”.
We were also well represented with six poster presentations at the event, so thanks to all for the significant contribution to national chemistry!
