An important archive of letters, poems, photographs, newspaper clippings and audio visual material relating to the life and work of Nigerian writer, TV producer and activist Ken Saro-Wiwa (1941-1995) is currently being highlighted in an exhibition at Special Collections & Archives, Maynooth University Library. Of particular importance are the many letters by Saro-Wiwa to Irish nun Sister Majella McCarron, smuggled out of military detention during his imprisonment by the Nigerian government.
