​Did the Nazis really make laws or just orders backed by threats?

Did the Nazis really make laws or just orders backed by threats?  New research just published in the Australasian Journal of Philosophy by Brian Flanagan, Department of Law, Maynooth University and Ivar Hannikainen (University of Granada)  sheds light on a millennia-old philosophical debate by using an empirical approach.  Contrary to the views of most contemporary theorists, their findings suggest that truly wicked rules are never truly lawful.
