Professor John O' Brennan published a new opinion piece for The Irish Examiner on 17 May 2023, analysing Europe's changing security landscape and where Ireland fits into this landscape. He argued that Ireland's policy of military neutrality is outdated and should be jettisoned. He contributed to a number of public discussions on this topic.
