‘Sharing the World: Reflecting on Global Citizenship Education’
The Maynooth University Department of International Development, together with the Departments of Education, Adult and Community Education, Froebel Department of Primary and Early Childhood Education, and Applied Social Sciences at Maynooth, warmly invite you to an evening of celebration of and reflection on Global Citizenship Education.
Prof Aislinn O'Donnell of the Dept. of Education will provide a keynote presentation entitled '"Sharing the World: Reflecting on Global Citizenship Education". She will reflect on what sharing the world might mean by drawing on the writings of philosophers like Édouard Glissant, Achille Mbembe, Vanessa Andreotti and Luce Iri-garay. She will outline some contemporary challenges to sharing the world, and suggest some educational practices and pedagogies that may help to address this question of how to share the world, and reflect on why it matters.
At this event Certificates will be presented to the graduates of the 2022/23 Maynooth University Certificate in Global Citizenship Education programme.
Please join us for this event in the School of Education, Classroom 014
