The Edward M Kennedy Institute co-authored an in-depth analysis of the EUs Preventative Diplomacy on behalf of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET). The research was carried out in partnership with the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) and the report “The EUs preventative Practice Makes (not yet) perfect” was presented to the AFET on 13 Feb 2024. The objective of research was to map out the EUs role in preventative diplomacy and if efforts to prevent the outbreak, escalation and recurrence of conflict and to provide an assessment of the effectiveness of this work, identify gaps in provision and to provide recommendations on how to improve the effectiveness of EUS work in this area.
