Monday, November 11, 2024 - 10:30 to 15:30
School of Education

This free in-person conference focuses on focusing on diverse perspectives about Relationship and Sexuality Education (RSE) in Irish primary schools.

It will take place in Maynooth University, Kildare, from 10am to 3:30pm on Monday 11th November 2024. Registration will start at 9.30am with tea/coffee provided. The event aims to create space for dialogue, problem-solving and empowerment for groups such as educators, parents, teachers, graduate students, researchers, and policymakers. The day will be interactive and engaging with a learning café and exploring scenarios. Lunch is provided for registered attendees.

We are delighted that this event will be facilitated by Dr Margarita Gerouki, an international expert in Relationships, Sexuality, and Gender Education. Dr Gerouki is the head of the Greek non-profit AXEPT (Safe-Carefree-Children-Presently) that collaborates with NGOs in Greece and abroad through Erasmus+ and other programs to promote Comprehensive Sexuality Education, and a member of the Sexuality Education Committee of the World Association for Sexual Health.

The event is kindly funded by the Maynooth University Social Sciences Institute (MUSSI) and we thank them for their support. The conference is also in partnership with MU SexGen, the Maynooth University scholarly network of faculty, researchers, and students researching genders and sexualities.

The timetable for the day and further details will be supplied for attendees closer to the event.
