On Wednesday, 7 May 2014, Eva Nagle, Lecturer at Maynooth University Department of Law, presented a paper to the Irish Society of International Law (ISIL) at the Irish Institute of Bankers.
Her paper dealt with a subject from international and intellectual property law. She spoke on the topic of proposed plain packaging legislation for tobacco products in Ireland and whether, as proposed, the legislation is compatible with domestic trade mark law, the Paris Convention and the TRIPS Agreement.
Her paper was followed by a discussion of the topic and the current challenge being taken against Australian plain packaging legislation at a World Trade Organization dispute panel.
