About

Gerard Gallagher is the Student Advisory Manager in the Maynooth University Access Programme. Gerard has spent over a decade in the field of student support, successfully leading projects that promote the inclusion of underrepresented groups. He has fostered strong relationships with external agencies, university colleagues, and the Students' Union. Gerard has played a pivotal role in key projects and policies at Maynooth University, such as the MAP Academic Advisor programme and the campus accommodation policy. 

Gerard holds a BSocSc in Social Work and an MSc in Equality Studies, which have equipped him with a keen understanding of equality and human rights issues faced by students, along with relevant Irish legislative obligations. Additionally, he is currently training in systemic psychotherapy, which enables him to address the increasing complexity of student issues, particularly in the realm of mental health.
