Micheal Griffin

I am 23 years old, currently employed in Donabate Community College teaching Biology and Science. I choose Science Education in Maynooth due to the structure of the course where I worked on my science degree concurrently with my teaching practice. I could also choose the two subjects I wanted to teach, Maths and Biology. The course has an emphasis on key skills and methodologies as well as practical, subject specific approaches to teaching and classroom management.

The course also gave me an excellent grounding in the teaching career as I got three years of teaching practice as opposed to the single year I would get in other degrees. I choose Maynooth itself as it has a beautiful campus situated in an ideal location featuring friendly people and staff as well as an excellent social scene.
