    Biography

    Gerda Dewit obtained her PhD in Economics in 1996 from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL).  Before joining the department of Economics at Maynooth University in 2000, she was a lecturer in Economics at the University of Glasgow (1996-2000).  Since 2010, she has been affiliated to the Leuven Centre for Irish Studies at KUL as a Senior Researcher. 

    Her main research fields are International Trade and Industrial Organisation. She is especially interested in the following topics: firm location, economic integration and globalisation, tax competition, labour standards, strategic behaviour in trade and foreign direct investment.
