This research seminar organised by Dr Catriona O’Toole, School of Education in collaboration with Doctoral and Masters students, takes a deep dive into emerging research on childhood adversity, trauma and education.
We know that childhood adversity is common and has potentially wide-ranging impacts on health, wellbeing, educational progress, and future life chances. But how should education systems respond? In this seminar, we explore the initiation and implementation of trauma-informed approaches in Irish education. We look at how education professionals and academics are working together to co-create and embed bespoke trauma-informed strategies tailored to particular school communities.
Open to MU students/colleagues & education professionals.
