There is growing consensus both nationally and internationally that radical change is needed in mental health service provision. Kyrie Therapeutic Farm (KTF), located in County Kildare, is a potentially transformative initiative in Ireland’s mental health services. It is aimed at enabling the recovery of people experiencing significant mental health difficulties through the creation of a healing environment, combining a supportive community, therapeutic and holistic care, and meaningful opportunities for participating in a natural farm setting (www.kyriefarm.com). The purpose of this project is to support KTF in achieving its goals by: (1) providing a state-of-the-art evidence synthesis to inform KTF Service Design Framework; (2) identifying barriers and facilitators to service implementation; and (3) initiating knowledge translation activities.
