Enacting Lesson Study with Post Primary DEIS Schools
Dr Diarmaid Hyland, Assistant Lecturer (with specialism in Professional Practice) in the Education Department at Maynooth University delivered the keynote address during Kilkenny Carlow Education and Training Board’s (KCETB) annual Teach Meet conference. Dr Hyland spoke to almost 400 teachers and school leaders about Lesson Study, and its viability as a mode of Professional Learning in the Irish Post primary setting.
Director of Schools for KCETB, Pauline Egan, described it as “very engaging and thought-provoking” presentation which “resonated with the audience”. Feedback from attendees was also very positive, with one school describing it as “A great example of how teachers can collaborate to improve student learning”.
