Dr Declan Gilmore-Kavanagh
Dr Declan Gilmore-Kavanagh is Lecturer in Eighteenth-Century Literature at the University of Kent, with research interests in Eighteenth-Century poetry, satire, political writing, masculinity, Irish literature, Queer Theory, Gay, Lesbian and Transgender writing and culture and the representation of phobia in literature. Declan completed his PhD on the relationship between xenophobia and effeminophobia in literary narratives of the Seven Years’ War (1756-1763) and its aftermath under the guidance of Dr Conrad Brunstrom in the Department of English at Maynooth University, where he was the recipient of an Irish Research Council doctoral award.
