On Tuesday, March 4, 2025 the School of Law and Criminology hosted an event during Social Justice week entitled, ‘Social Justice: (Poly)crises, rights and the need for transformative change’ facilitated by Dr Mary Dobbs.
The event consisted of a roundtable discussion considering the multiple, interrelated crises facing Ireland - specifically the environment, health and housing. The impacts are already visible and will increase in future unless transformative change is undertaken. The panel discussed the concerns, potential solutions and challenges.
Panellists included:
- Patrick Bresnihan (land and resource use - contested politics);
- Conor Crummey (public and constitutional law - including housing rights);
- Mary Dobbs (environmental law);
- Orla Kelleher (climate, environmental and human rights law); and
- Jennie Stephens (climate justice).
