I chose my modules in the first semester but I have noticed that I now have a clash. What can I do?

The timetable is subject to change as staff and other operational changes may be required. The timetable is designed to facilitate students to take their compulsory modules and the credits required for each semester. We cannot guarantee that students will be able to take their preferred options. If there are classgroups (i.e. the module is delivered separately more than once, e.g. for some Business, some School of Law and Criminology, Critical Skills modules, etc.) it may be possible to swap into a different classgroup.

I have a clash with another lecture, but the module is offered more than once; can I move classgroup?

  • The other times that the module is delivered are indicated on the timetable with /A or /B or /C as shown below.
  •  If you could attend the other group, without clashes, email [email protected] including your student number, the module codes and the classgroup (A/B/C) you wish to change to. If there is space available in the other group, and depending on departmental constraints, this change may be possible. (Note that changes can only be facilitated in the first week of  term).

What do L1, L2, and L3, P1, P2 and T1, T2 mean on the timetable?

  • L1 means Lecture 1, Lecture 2 and Lecture 3. The number of lectures per week is generally related to the credit value of the module. 7.5 credit modules typically have 3 lectures per week, 5 credit modules usually have 2 lectures. Students need to attend all lectures.
  • P1, P2, P3 generally refers to practical sessions – e.g. laboratories. Students generally attend one, but you should refer to the relevant academic department for specific information.

I can see that I am in group A in Moodle/ my group in the timetable doesn’t match my group in Moodle.

In September 2023, Moodle updates will take place during weekdays up to and including Friday 1st September.
After Monday 4th September, Moodle will update on Friday 8th and Friday 15th September for module registrations that take place on those weeks.
Daily (Mon-Fri) updates will resume from Monday 18th September.
You should always refer to your timetable to see which classgroup you are in.
