As part of Green Week 2023, we are cleaning up Maynooth harbour and the Royal Canal! Due to a yellow weather warning, the event was postponed until this week.
The MGC team, in partnership with MSU, Maynooth Tidy Town, Clean Coasts, EnviroSoc, MUCK, and other members of our community, we will gather to clean=up the canal as part of the #ThinkB4YouFlush campaign
Team members will be at the location with hi-vis vests, and you cannot miss us! Gloves, pickers and bags will be provided
When: 19th April 10 am-1 pm
Where: Maynooth Harbour Royal Canal
The schedule is as follows:
10 am: Clean Coasts team, Maynooth TT, MU students and staff meet at Maynooth Harbour for a debriefing about H&S, housekeeping and instructions
12.30 pm: Attendees will gather (back to the harbour) to segregate the waste in situ (recyclables in clear bags/non-recyclables in green bags)
1.00 pm: Attendees are invited to get light refreshments at the ICA Hall (green galvanised hub).
Note: MU Comms, CC and New Decade will be filming and taking pictures of the event. If you do not want to be filmed, please let us know.
Let's inspire each other and make a positive impact on the town and our waterways!
