In an interview conducted in January 2021 for a core module on Pandemics in History, Philip Nolan (President of MU and member of NPHET) faced frank questions from the current Head of the History Department about the social, environmental and individual significance of the pandemic. With his usual candour, Professor Nolan also addressed climate change, globalisation, isolation, inequality, and his own personal experiences of lockdown.
