    John Glover holds a Ph.D. in the area of sound analysis and synthesis from the National University of Ireland, where was supervised by Dr Victor Lazarrini

    John is currently based in Berlin, working as a software engineer on the data team at SoundCloud - the world's leading social sound platform. The data team works in a variety of different areas at SoundCloud such as analytics, statistics, messaging and providing tools for accessing and processing large volumes of data.

    John has recently received a Ph.D. in the area of sound analysis and synthesis from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth, where he was supervised by Dr. Victor Lazzarini. His research was on new techniques for modelling and manipulating musical instrument sounds in real-time, with a particular focus on spectral analysis and musical onset detection. His thesis work also involved the creation of several open source software packages that enable other researchers, musicians and composers to perform spectral-based transformations to streaming audio signals.
