Last week produced plenty of highs and lows for the club as we saw the heartbreak of defeat in the Sigerson Cup for our Senior footballers alongside two memorable victories for the Freshers in their respective championship outings.
The Senior hurlers were given a baptism of fire in the Fitzgibbon Cup by an experienced IT Carlow and while they suffered a second defeat to Mary I on Saturday they showed that heart and fight will bring you a long way. There was joy on the hurling front as well though as the Freshers swept aside St Pats to set up an All Ireland quarter-final showdown with UL this coming week.
Meanwhile the Camogie girls produced a brilliant display to overcome a highly fancied DIT in an enthralling battle. Unfortunately the joy was short-lived as they were edged out of a semi-final place on scoring difference but still have plenty to look forward to next weekend with a place in the Purcell Shield Final on February 14th in DCU
