Hon. Ms. Justice Úna Ní Raifeartaigh
Úna Ní Raifeartaigh was Reid Professor of Criminal Law in Trinity College Dublin (1991-5)but left academia to engage full-time in practice at the Bar. She practiced as a barrister in the Irish courts between 1993 and 2016, first as a Junior Counsel and, after 2009, as a Senior Counsel. She was appointed as a judge of the High Court in 2016 and the Court of Appeal in 2019. Her practice at the Bar concentrated in criminal and public/constitutional/human rights law and she was also involved in a number of public inquiries. In the High Court she heard cases in the area of judicial review, chancery, and crime, and was also in charge of the “international child abduction” list. In the Court of Appeal, she sits on a wide variety of cases spanning all area of civil and criminal law.
Colette Quinn, Chief Superintendent
Chief Superintendent Colette Quinn began her career in An Garda Síochána 1984. She ascended the ranks achieving promotion to the rank of Sergeant, Inspector, and Superintendent and in July 2017 was promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent.
Colette is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin and holds Masters Degrees from the Dublin Institute of Technology, University of Ulster and the National University of Ireland. She is a graduate of The Honorable Society of King’s Inns, Dublin and was called to the Bar in 2010.
Chief Superintendent Quinn was Director of the statutory Diversion Programme under the Children Act 2001 until 2017 and is now in charge of the Garda Youth Diversion Bureau. Colette’s ambition is to further improve services to children who come in contact with the law, both, internally within An Garda Síochána and in partnership with other service providers both statutory and non-statutory. She has a keen interest in mentoring and restorative justice and holds a Master’s Degree in Mediation & Conflict Intervention from the Kennedy Institute, NUI Maynooth.
Hannah Carney, Hannah Carney & Associates
Hannah Carney is an executive coach, professional mentor and organisation development consultant in the areas of leadership and team development.
Coming from a legal professional background, Hannah has 30 years’ experience in the professional and corporate world. As a Partner in McCann FitzGerald she practiced in the areas of commercial disputes and dispute resolution. Hannah then successfully transitioned into, and established, the area of professional development, creating and taking on the role of Director of Professional Development. In that role she had responsibility for leading out on the design and development of all initiatives in the area of leadership, talent; and, team development for the Firm.
With a particular interest in professional mentoring and the talent development Hannah has designed mentoring programmes, with associated tailored skills training initiatives, for professional bodies including The Irish Dental Association, the Irish College of General Practitioners and The Bar of Ireland and also within business client organisations.
She works as an executive coach with leadership teams and emerging talent in professional services and across industry. Her clients include national and international legal, consulting and accountancy practices; and, organisations in the healthcare, tech and financial services sectors. She has a particular interest in supporting the not for profit and community sector, Hannah and the HCA associate team provide advice and support to FLAC, Community Law and Mediation; and, the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre.
Hannah has developed and delivers a range of Leadership and Skills Development Programmes tailored specifically for professional services. She is an accredited and qualified ‘Time to Think’ practitioner, the methodology of which she incorporates into her work when appropriate. She is also a regular user of the Emotional Capital Inventory and 360 Emotional Intelligence Profile in service of clients’ priorities.
As an accredited Mediator through CEDR; Hannah is a member, and a previous chair, of ONE~resolve, a panel of professional Mediators in Dublin. She has been involved in the resolution of a range of significant and contentious senior management, commercial and employment situations.
