Emma McEvoy, a PhD student in Maynooth University Department of Law, recently spoke at the Diversity in the Economy and Local Integration (DELI) Round Table Seminar in the Royal Irish Academy, Dublin.
Diversity in the Economy and Local Integration (DELI), co-funded by the Council of Europe and the European Integration Fund, fosters more efficient local policies in support of migrant-owned SMEs and migrant entrepreneurship as part of wider diversity and inclusion policies. Launched officially on 4 - 5 March 2014 in Brussels, DELI is an 18-month joint project of the Council of Europe and the European Commission and is carried out in co-operation with the Migration Policy Group. Both the Council of Europe and Migration Policy Group share the responsibilities of the overall coordination and implementation of the project.
On 23 October 2014, Dublin hosted a round table seminar with the Council of Europe organisers to explore the issue of migrant entrepreneurship in Ireland. Emma spoke on the challenges and opportunities faced by migrant entrepreneurs selling into the public procurement market.
Further information on the DELI project is available online.
