Why study Economics

This is a new course that will put you on a path to become a professional economist. If you are a mathsy person with an interest in economic and socioeconomic and political issues, then this programme is for you. 
 
We are a vibrant diverse group of academics with an international reputation for excellence in research and teaching. Our mission is to provide students with the skills needed to take an analytical approach to understand, critique and create policies to combat economic and social problems such as poverty, unemployment, gender and racial inequality, financial instability, and climate change.  
 
The Department offers three programmes in Economics; you can study Economics through MH101 BA Arts, through MH415 BSc Economics, and through MH416 BA International Economics.
