The term intersectionality is increasingly prominent in widening participation and equality, diversity and inclusion practices in higher education. During Social Justice Week 2019, the MU Athena SWAN Intersectionality Committee and
HR Equality invite staff and students to an interactive discussion of equality, diversity and intersectionality in a higher education setting, relating back to the Equality and Diversity All-Staff Survey 2018. The event provides an opportunity for staff and students to learn more about intersectionality as a concept and to apply it to “real world” examples through a number of hypothetical scenarios.
This is a free event, but we ask staff and students to register here.
This is a BYOD (Bring your own Device) event. To support engagement and feedback gathering throughout the session, we will be using interactive polling software (TurningPoint), so please bring along your mobile/laptop/tablet. Technological support for the event is provided by the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL).
Lunch and tea/coffee will be provided.
