Dr Izzy Fox
Biography
Dr Izzy Fox is a postdoctoral researcher working on two research projects based in the Media Studies department at MU. These projects are FSFDH (Full Stack Feminism in Digital Humanities) and GEMINI (Gender Equality through Media Investigations and New Training Insights). FSFDH is funded by the IRC (Irish Research Council) and the UK’s AHRC (Arts and Humanities Research Council) and it aims to embed intersectional feminist thinking and practices across the Digital Humanities; while GEMINI is an EU-CERV (Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values programme)-funded project that centres young people's perspectives of gender representation in serial dramas, through engaging with secondary school students, their teachers, as well as creative media producers. Dr Fox submitted her PhD in 2020, placing Irish fourth wave feminist activism in the international, historical and digital contexts. She is currently co-editing a special edition journal based on the themes of the FSFDH project and is also working on a number of publications, including a monograph related to intersectional feminism, online discourse and digital activism.
