Michael James Boland

Dr. Michael James Boland is an Assistant Professor/Lecturer in Law at the School of Law and Criminology, Maynooth University. He holds BCL, LLM, and PhD degrees from University College Cork. He also holds a Certificate in Communication (QCF) from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.

Dr. Boland previously lectured at Munster Technological University (MTU) and served on the MTU School of Business Research Committee. Prior to that, Dr. Boland taught at University College Cork (UCC) where he was thrice nominated for the UCC President's Award for Excellence in Teaching. He also served as business law instructor at Kerry College of Further Education and has delivered guest lectures at the Stockholm School of Economics, Riga.

Dr. Boland's research and teaching is primarily in company law. However, he has experience teaching and examining a range of private law subjects including employment law, information technology law, and contract law. He has also lectured in European Union law.
