We are excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for students in the School of Law and Criminology. To mark the 75th Anniversary of the Council of Europe, the Department of Foreign Affairs is hosting a competition, offering two students an all-expenses-paid, three-day visit to Dublin and Strasbourg. This "crash-course" will provide unique insights into the workings of the Council of Europe.

  • Eligibility: Open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students registered with the School of Law and Criminology 2024-2025.

Selection Criteria:

  • There are two places available, one for a male student and one for a female student.
  • Students must be aged 18 years of age or over and possess a valid passport with at least one year of validity as of the travel date. The passport must allow visa-free entry into both Germany and France.
  • The Department of Foreign Affairs cannot assist with visa applications for this trip.
  • Students are responsible for their travel to and from Dublin on 5 and 8 November 2024.
  • It is strongly recommended that students secure travel insurance for the trip, as the Department of Foreign Affairs will not be liable for any injuries or accidents.

 
We encourage students who have previously completed coursework related to the Council of Europe to consider revising and submitting it as their competition entry. This is a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of European institutions and gain invaluable experience.
