The Dice Project produces a podcast called Curious and Critical GCE. It is a series all about global citizenship education, developed to accompany the book Curious Teachers, Critical Classrooms. The podcast series is hosted by Dr Brighid Golden, lecturer in Global Citizenship Education at MIC.
Dr Eilish Dillon recently recorded an episode exploring the history of GCE in Ireland. In this episode, the host Brighid chats with Eilish about the history of global citizenship education in Ireland. Based on Eilish's own research and experiences, she shares her thoughts on what has shaped GCE in the formal sector in Ireland and where we are going.
Eilish has recently co-edited a book called 'Global Education in Ireland: CriticalHistories and Future Directions', which she draws from in the podcast. The book was published by Bloomsbury Press in October 2024, and is available to download for free by open access from bloomsburycollections.com.
