Aodhdin Casey
Biography
Aodhdín Casey is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. Her professional practice experience ranges from small (for the duration of her articles) to Big 4 (KPMG post qualification). She also has extensive (industry) experience in an Irish subsidiary of a large multi-national software provider. Aodhdín was responsible for all Irish trading entities in a controller capacity, with statutory roles including Director and Company Secretary for all Irish entities. She joined Maynooth as a lecturer in 2008 while continuing to work in industry and lectures in management accounting, financial accounting and financial management. Since becoming a full-time member of staff in Maynooth University she has pursued her research interest in the changing nature of service provision within accountancy practices. Aodhdín is currently undertaking her PhD at Dublin City University, under the supervision of Dr Ruth Mattimoe and Dr Bríd Murphy (DCU), and Prof Joan Ballantine (Ulster University).
Research Interests
Aodhdín is interested in the changing nature of service provision in accountancy firms. In particular, how firms are dealing with ongoing
disruption and adaptation in response to advances in technology and regulation, together with changes in client behaviour and in the nature of competition. Aodhdín is currently undertaking her PhD at Dublin City University, under the supervision of Dr Ruth Mattimoe and Dr Bríd Murphy (DCU), and Prof Joan Ballantine (Ulster University).
