Prof David Cuberes

Biography
Prof Cuberes' research focuses on urban economics, economic history and economic growth. His research has analyzed the process of city growth across countries, the effects of wars on urban population and the factors that explain household location within a city. He has also worked on the aggregate effects of gender inequality, on the link between democracy and growth volatility and on the demographic transition. He has published in journals such as the Economic Journal, the Journal of Urban Economics, Regional Science and Urban Economics, the Journal of Human Capital, and Macroeconomic Dynamics.
After his undergraduate study at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Prof Cuberes did a Master’s in Economics and Finance at CEMFI (Madrid) and a PhD at the University of Chicago. He has done research and taught at Clemson University, Royal Holloway (UK), Universidad de Alicante (Spain), the University of Sheffield (UK), and Clark University (U.S.). He has also been a consultant for the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the Inter-American Development Bank among other organisations.
