About
Gearard Ó Floinn PhD, STD is Senior Lecturer in the Froebel Department of Education, Maynooth University where he teaches religious education and religious studies. He is from Clonmel, Co. Tipperary and went to school at primary and second level to the Christian Brothers Schools. He graduated in education from Coláiste Oideachais Mhuire, Marino and from the University of Dublin, Trinity College and in theology from Saint Patrick’s College Maynooth. He did postgraduate studies in education at Trinity College Dublin, in theology at the Irish School of Ecumenics and at Saint Patrick’s College Maynooth and in biblical studies at Tilburg University, the Netherlands. He is a former secretary of the Irish Biblical Association.
He taught at primary and second level for a number of years. He tutored in theology at Saint Patrick’s College Maynooth. He taught at Milltown Institute of Philosopy and Theology, Mary Immaculate College, Limerick and Coláiste Mhuire Marino before joining the staff of Froebel College Sion Hill and of Maynooth University.
