Shivam Agarwal
Biography
Dr. Shivam Agarwal is an Assistant Professor at the Maynooth University, School of Business. His research is in areas of explainable AI, financial misconduct, mitigating financial fraud, exploring the relationship between organisational culture and risk in international banks. His methodological lenses include textual analysis and machine learning.
He has published his research in the European Financial Management and Economics Letters. Shivam teaches Corporate Finance, Derivatives, Econometrics, Machine Learning and Risk Management. Across the undergraduate, executive and graduate levels, he has lectured and tutored in derivatives, machine learning, portfolio and risk management, financial economics modules at University College Dublin and the 2021 Machine Learning in Python workshop organized by UCD.
Shivam holds bachelors' degree in Mathematics from St.Xavier's Mumbai and a masters degree in Quantitative Finance from Univesity College Dublin. He was awarded the Operational Risk scholarship to pursue his PhD in Finance at the business school at UCD in 2017.
His administrative duties include the role of Program Director of the BA Finance and Quantitative Finance programmes at the School of Business, Maynooth University.
