Dr Shirley O'Dea was recently presented with the Annual Commercialisation Award. Shirley has been very active in the commercialisation space over the last number of years and is currently a Director and Chief Scientific Officer of Avectas Limited, a spinout company from Maynooth University. Shirley is also a senior lecturer in the Biology Department.
The Annual Commercialisation Award recognises excellence in the commercialisation of research at Maynooth University. We consider activity such as invention disclosures recorded, licence deals completed, patents filed, spinout creation and developing new links with industry as key factors in bringing research to the market place.
