Biography

Alina Kovalenko is a Postdoctoral researcher at Maynooth University, collaborating with the Marine Institute on decarbonization pathways for the Irish maritime industry. Funded by the Marine Institute, her project focuses on guiding the industry towards carbon neutrality by 2050. Alina ensures project coordination, conducts research with stakeholders, and analyzes data on potential Green Shipping Corridors across the Irish Sea. Her work includes developing a roadmap for decarbonizing the Irish maritime sector and assessing the socio-economic impact of environmental policies, focusing on alternative maritime fuels and onshore power supply.
